Nebraska’s Tim Nelson has received a new five-year grant to extend research into obesity. One component of it is to test subjects at the Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior by having the test subject in an MRI receiving sips of milkshakes.

Janos Zempleni, Willa Cather Professor of molecular nutrition in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, leads the Nebraska Center for the Prevention of Obesity Diseases through Dietary Molecules. The center has received an additional $11 million from the National Institutes of Health’s Center of Biomedical Research Excellence program, or COBRE, to continue another five years.
