University opera to perform ‘Return of Ulysses’

Nebraska’s student-led opera will host two performances of the drama “The Return of Ulysses” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3 p.m. Nov. 4 in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are available to purchase on the Lied Center website or by calling 402-472-4747.

Based on Homer’s mythic tale “The Odyssey,” “The Return of Ulysses” follows the love story of Ulysses and Penelope. It was written by Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi and has been adapted to English for the university opera’s performance. A program for the recital can be found here.
