Online resource created for COVID-19 signage

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has created an online resource of COVID-19 signage options that departments and units can use as part of the return to on campus instruction for the fall semester.

The initial batch features directional and informational signage. The online signage resource is being developed with the COVID-19 Task Force, Forward to Fall committee, Emergency Operations Command, Environmental Health and Safety and University Communications.

The ordering, printing and installation of all signage is the responsibility of each department or unit. Signage placement guidelines are being developed by the Forward to Fall committee. Details about the guidelines will be communicated to building managers.

Departments and units should consult with building managers to identify signage needs. These individuals should be working closely with Facilities Management and Environmental Health and Safety on optimal placement based on proper materials used to install signage, traffic flow and occupancy rates.

Signage options currently available address hygiene and health guidelines related to elevator use, hand washing, COVID-19 symptoms and facial coverings.

A variety of directional signage options is also available for the campus community to download and print as needed. Most signage is in standard 8.5x11 PDF format as well floor graphics and editable templates for temporary signage.

Departments and units that need to professionally print signage should contact their Customer Service Representative in Printing Services or send an email to Printing Services at prepress2@unl.edu.

For assistance with or guidance on special installation of signage, contact Facilities Management at 402-472-1550.

The signage database will continue to be updated as needed. For more information, or to discuss specific signage, contact Carrie Hulsey-Greene at carriehulsey-greene@unl.edu
