Gold’s presidential candidate presentations are April 15

Dr. Jeffrey P. Gold
Dr. Jeffrey P. Gold was named the priority candidate to serve as the NU system's next president on March 20. His public forums on campus begin today at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will host Dr. Jeffrey P. Gold, the priority candidate to serve as the NU system’s next president, for a series of public forums on April 15.

The forums, each of which is open to the public, are:

  • 8:30 a.m. — UNL Forum I (Great Plains Room A, Nebraska East Union, and via Zoom);
  • 10 a.m. — UNL Forum II (Swanson Auditorium, Nebraska Union, and via Zoom); and
  • 11:30 a.m. — Office of the President Forum (Boardroom, Varner Hall).

Gold, the current executive vice president and provost of the NU system and chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, was named the priority candidate for the University of Nebraska presidency on March 20, following a national search. As state law requires, he is undergoing a 30-day public vetting period. If, after the vetting period, the NU Board of Regents deems it appropriate, they will bring Gold’s appointment for consideration at a regents meeting.

University community members and the public are encouraged to submit feedback on Gold’s candidacy anytime during the vetting period by visiting nebraska.edu/president-search/feedback.

A complete overview of Gold’s public forums for the entire NU system is available here.
