The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Research and Economic Development is sponsoring an internal competition to select applicants for the 2017 National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation program. Interested faculty should submit an intent to submit a proposal for the internal competition by 5 p.m. Oct. 3. Internal pre-proposals are due Oct. 17.
The major research instrumentation program aims to increase access to shared scientific and engineering instruments for research and research training that typically are too costly or not appropriate for support through other National Science Foundation programs. For more information on program, click here. The program enables organizations to acquire instrumentation tailored to the group’s goals and that may be shared with other researchers regionally or nationally. The university can submit a maximum of three full proposals to NSF – two in the instrument acquisition category and one in the instrument development category. The university’s internal competition will select the top pre-proposals to be developed into full proposals for submission to NSF. The NSF deadline for full proposals is Jan. 11, 2017.
