The Employee Assistance Program is offering a speaker presentation on caregiving by Natalie Leon from 11 a.m. to noon May 7 in the Nebraska Union Heritage Room.
Participants can register on Bridge or by email at eap@unl.edu.
Leon brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, beginning her career as a certified nurse's assistant and medication aide supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Those early experiences shaped her deep compassion for older adults and ignited a lifelong commitment to supporting both seniors and the families who love them.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in health care administration. Her background includes helping to start an assisted living and memory care community and working with the Alzheimer’s Association, where she provided education and support to those navigating memory loss. Leon also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, teaching Introduction to Gerontology and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
Leon is a strong advocate for aging in place and believes older adults thrive in the comfort of home. She is the owner of Visiting Angels, a home care agency that provides personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities, helping older adults remain safe and independent at home.
