Women’s Week events open March 5

Each year, the Women’s Center, in collaboration with many different student organizations, academic and administrative departments and community groups, hosts and organizes Women’s Week to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. Women’s Week 2016 is from March 5-18.

The theme for Women’s Week 2016 is “Inform. Empower. Inspire Action.” The events will inform audiences about the issues women face in today’s society, empower individuals to work towards social change and inspire action.

Women’s Week starts with Owning It: Engendering Consciousness, an exhibition to challenge mainstream notions of power and ownership with feminist alternatives for conscious empowerment.
