Symposium to explore effective science communication

Registration is open for UNL SciComm 2015, a symposium on effective science communication.

The free symposium is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center. Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided. Registration, available online, is open through Sept. 20.

The schedule includes 15 presentations by speakers from UNL, Doane College and the University of Colorado. The talks will spotlight past and future science outreach and innovative approaches for increasing science literacy in biology, chemistry, physics, the environment and public health. It will also explore the science of belief and how to overcome aspects of psychology that can impede efforts to engage the public in scientific endeavors.

The conference will include time for participants to discuss projects and possible collaborations.
