Registration open for spring teaching and learning symposium

Academic Affairs at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is holding a 2016 Spring Teaching and Learning Symposium for faculty from 1 to 5 p.m. April 1 at Nebraska Innovation Campus. Registration is now open for the event.

The symposium, designed to engage educators across campus in conversations about inclusiveness in teaching and learning, will focus on on practical strategies for facilitating challenging conversations, designing diverse course content, and promoting awareness of and reflection about diversity. The symposium will feature a student panel and all-participant workshop facilitated by Shari Saunders, associate clinical professor of educational studies at the University of Michigan. Saunders is also co-author of “Creating Inclusive College Classrooms.”

Following the all-participant workshop, participants can choose from concurrent breakout sessions on key topics such as teamwork, classroom space, future learning technologies, and motivation and engagement.
