‘Love is All You Need’ returns to the Ross

Popular demand has brought the romantic drama “Love is All You Need,” starring Pierce Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm, back to the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. Also showing is Woody Allen’s new comedy/drama “Blue Jasmine,” starring Cate Blanchett.

Directed by Golden Globe- and Oscar-winning filmmaker Susanne Bier, “Love is All You Need,” features Brosnan as Philip, a lonely, middle-aged Englishman, widower and estranged father living in Denmark. Ida (Dyrholm) is a Danish hairdresser recuperating from an illness who has just been left by her husband for a younger woman.

The fates of these two bruised souls intertwine as they embark on a trip to Italy to attend the wedding of their children.

In “Blue Jasmine,” Blanchett stars as a newly divorced New Yorker who moves to San Francisco to live with her sister. Forced to put her life back together while taking powerful anti-depressants, Blanchett’s character dates a series of men, attempts to build a career, and slowly learns how to count on herself for survival.

“Love is All You Need” is rated R and plays through Sept. 5, “Blue Jasmine” is rated PG-13 and plays through Sept. 12.
