The Huskers softball program will host the World’s Largest Softball Tailgate April 19 at Bowlin Stadium. The event, which is free and open to the public, opens at 10 a.m. and precedes the 1 p.m. game with Ohio State University.

Free food will be available to the first 2,000 participants. The tailgate will also include games and activities outside the stadium.

The Huskers aim to break the 2013 largest tailgate record of 1,840 fans.

Fans do not need to purchase a ticket for either the tailgate or the softball game, as both events are free. Season ticket holders and fans that already have tickets for the game are guaranteed seats. All other seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The free food will include a hot dog, bag of chips and a Pepsi product. Concessions stands will be open for additional purchases. Participants are not allowed to bring their own food or drink into Bowlin Stadium.

Other tailgate attractions include giveaways, inflatable games, live music, Huskers autograph opportunities, face painting and balloon artists.
