Sexual assault in the military will be addressed in a 2 p.m. April 21 discussion and film screening. The event, organized by UNL Army ROTC, Voices of Hope and the Women’s Center, is free and in the Nebraska Union, Colonial Room A.
Members of the UNL Army ROTC program will lead a discussion on sexual assault in the military following a screening of the documentary “The Invisible War.” The film, written and directed by Kirby Dick, features interviews with veterans from multiple branches of the United States military who recount events surrounding their sexual assaults. Between the first-person stories are interviews with advocates, journalists, mental health professionals, active duty and retired generals, Department of Defense officials and members of the military justice system.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage appropriate discussion on the topic.
