Concordia String Trio to perform Feb. 12

Concordia String Trio

The Concordia String Trio will perform a free, public concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at St. Marks on the Campus, 1309 R St.

The repertoire includes works by German composer Herman Berens, a trio by Polish composer Jan Kleczynski in the style of early Beethoven and Mozart, and a string trio by American composer Robert Myczynski.

Members of the trio include UNL’s Karen Becker, professor of cello and principal cellist of the Lincoln Symphony; Marcia Henry Liebenow, violin professor at Bradley University and concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony; and Leslie Perna, viola professor at the University of Missouri and violinist with the Esterhazy Quartet.

Since the Concordia String Trio formed in 1999, they have performed throughout the Midwest. The trio’s most recent release is a recording of Alan Schmitz’s “String Trio” (Capstone Records). The group’s next release is a recording of Andrew List’s “Six Bagatelles for String Trio” is set for future release.
