City Campus to experience network outage on May 25

Due to an ongoing upgrade, some buildings on City Campus will experience a network outage from 8 to 11 a.m. May 25.

During the outage, Information Technology Services will install an additional distribution router that will increase bandwidth and redundancy to campus buildings. This is the second in a series of network distribution upgrades initiated on May 11. By the end of the summer, bandwidth to all City Campus locations will double.

Additional project phases will continue on both City and East campuses through next year. By the end of 2015, UNL will increase Internet capacity through commodity vendors and connections to consortiums Internet2 and OmniPop.

A list of buildings affected by the May 25 outage is below. All wired and wireless networking in buildings listed will be impacted unless otherwise noted. Services affected include emergency management, CCTV, alarms and door access.

For more information, send email to operator@unl.edu or call 402-472-5653.

If individuals experience network problems after the upgrade is completed, contact the ITS Computer Help Center at mysupport@unl.edu or 402-472-3970.
