The Big Red Singers and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will each take to the Kimball Recital Hall stage at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 as part of a Glenn Korff School of Music performance.

The Big Red Singers will present an electrifying performance of energizing and uplifting music. The show will include the music of Cher, Justin Timberlake and many others. The concert will also be the world-premiere of an arrangement of Kevin Rudolf’s “Welcome To The World.”

The fifteen-voice jazz ensemble will present several jazz standards; many of which will be accompanied by their rhythm section. A musical highlight of the evening will be the performance of two a cappella ballads that have become staples of the vocal jazz ensemble repertoire, Steve Zegree’s arrangement of “Embraceable You” and a wistful arrangement of “I’ll Be Seeing You” by Phil Mattson. The group will premiere a new arrangement of “Lullaby of Birdland” by group member and graduate student Charlie Wulke.

The evening performance will also be webcast.

Tickets are available at the door and are $3 for students and senior citizens and $5 for other members of the public.
