A farewell reception for Timothy Alvarez, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs, is 3:30 to 5 p.m. May 7 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. Remarks begin at 4 p.m.

The reception is free and open to students, faculty and staff.

Alvarez, who has serves in the student affairs post since 2007 and is a professor of practice and graduate faculty associate, has been named vice president for student affairs at North Dakota State University. His last official day at UNL is May 23. He begins the North Dakota appointment on June 16.
