The 18th annual Student Dance Project is 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3-4 in the Temple Building’s Studio Theatre.

The annual Student Dance Project is a program of original work by student choreographers in the Glenn Korff School of Music’s dance program.

Tickets for the performance are $7 general admission and $5 for students/seniors and are available in advance online from the Lied Center Box Office or by calling 402-472-4747. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The Dec. 4 performance will be live webcast. Visit the School of Music website the day of the performance for the link.

The program features work by 16 choreographers from a dance composition course led by Susan Ourada, associate professor of dance.

Auditions are held for this concert on the first Wednesday of the semester, and each choreographer selects their casts from a large array of talented dancers: freshman to seniors, majors and minors, and one another. While largely modern-based, students also draw from their backgrounds in contemporary, jazz, street dance styles and ballet to create their pieces.

In addition, graduate and undergraduate student lighting designers studying with Michelle Harvey, assistant professor of theatre in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will be lighting the show.
