Some outdoor recreation areas open for use

Head outdoors this weekend to enjoy the numerous on-campus recreational areas.

Head outside this weekend to enjoy the numerous recreational areas on campus. From pick-up games to organized sports, there’s a spot for everyone to enjoy being active in the warm weather.

Tennis
  • 14th and Avery Recreation Area (City Campus): The tennis courts at this location are available for use.

  • 17th and Vine Recreation Area (City Campus): Tennis is currently available, but field use is limited to supervised Campus Recreation programs and special events.

Sand Volleyball:
  • Selleck Sand Volleyball Courts (City Campus): Located between the Selleck Quad buildings, there are sand volleyball courts.

  • North 17th Courts (City Campus): Find these sand volleyball and basketball courts on the north side of University and Eastside Suites.

Basketball
  • 18th and S Recreation Area (City Campus): Available seven days a week, 5-9 p.m., with supervised attendant.

  • Recreation and Wellness Center Outdoor Courts (East Campus): These courts are located on the south side of the East Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.

Soccer
  • Mabel Lee Fields (City Campus): Available seven days a week, 5-9 p.m., with supervised attendant.

  • Neihardt Green Space (City Campus): The large open field behind Neihardt Hall and across the street from Willa Cather Dining Center can be used for soccer.

Fitness/ Outdoor Workouts
  • 17th and R Fitness Court (City Campus): Get the National Fitness Campaign app to be guided through an outdoor workout with seven stations of body weighted work.

  • FitBox at the Recreation & Wellness Center (East Campus): The FitBox is open during East Campus Recreation & Wellness Center hours of operation. Capacity is limited to four people.

  • Meiers Commons / The Nebraska Union Green Space (City Campus): Here you can play lawn games, do outdoor yoga or exercise outside with friends.

In all outdoor recreation areas, masks must be worn if physical distancing cannot be maintained (this includes pick-up games like basketball or volleyball).
