Registration open for Sept. 20 Lincoln Garden Walk

Guests on the NSA Garden Tour will visit a number of native gardens around Lincoln.

The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, which is supported by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, will hold its annual Lincoln Garden Walk, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20.

At least six local gardens across the city will be open to tour, with owners on hand to answer questions and provide information about the plants and garden design.

All of the gardens featured on the tour are part of NSA’s Bloom Box program or the My Garden Affiliate program. Bloom Box provides local gardeners with native plants hand-selected by NSA’s horticulturalists, along with a design plan and instructions for maintaining the garden. The My Garden program is designed for home gardeners seeking to use their private gardens to create a more sustainable, resilient environment.

“The Garden Walk is a chance for local gardeners participating in our programs to show off the beautiful results of their hard work, while also inspiring others to explore and learn about the benefits of sustainable gardening,” said Sarah Buckley, NSA program coordinator.

Tickets for the Lincoln Garden Walk are $5 per car for NSA members and $10 per car for non-members. Participants will be provided with a map of the gardens on the tour and a description of each.
