A retirement reception for Sgt. Doug Petersen of the University Police Department will be 2 to 5 p.m. July 25 in the Nebraska Union, Colonial Room A. A presentation and remarks are scheduled for 3 p.m.

During his 41 years of service to the university, Petersen was responsible for working with campus event planners and staffing police officers at more than 100 campus events each year. He also supervised patrol officers on evening shifts and served as a liaison to several offices on campus.

The reception is free and open to the campus community. Cake and punch will be served.
