Parenting classes offered to faculty, staff

EAP Parenting
The Employee Assistance Program is offering a six-week parenting class.

Nebraska’s Employee Assistance Program will host a six-week parenting class, “Parenting the Love and Logic Way,” beginning Feb. 12. The course is open to all university faculty and staff.

“Parenting the Love and Logic Way” will feature strategies to raise a responsible child who learns from the consequences of their mistakes. Participants will learn about preparing children for the real world and avoiding power struggles by letting empathy and consequences do the teaching. An overview of the six-week class schedule will be provided at the first meeting, and educational material will be handed out during each class period to reinforce learning from videos and class discussion.

Classes will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 12, 19 and 26; March 4 and 18; and April 1 at the 501 Building, Room 22.

Participants should park in the A lot near the 501 Building. Those without an A lot sticker can park in Stadium Drive Parking Garage, 625 Stadium Drive, and bring their ticket for validation.

For more information or to register, call the Employee Assistance Program at 402-472-3107.
