Nutrition, health sciences offers free personal coaching program

.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Nutrition and Health Science is offering a two- to four-week personal nutrition coaching program, led by junior and senior student coaches.

The program includes a nutrition assessment; individualized plans and menus; strategies to overcome temptations; answers to nutrition questions; educational support materials; and weekly consultations to maintain motivation and accountability.

Participants will be matched with a Husker student majoring in nutrition and health sciences and who has completed most nutrition courses. Students are supervised by a registered dietitian. Participants and their student coaches will arrange a convenient, weekly time and place to meet.

The free program is for anyone willing to commit to meeting two to four times between July 17 and Aug. 9. Those interested can contact Candace Kohnke, assistant professor of practice in the didactic program in dietetics, at ckohnke2@unl.edu.
