A free “Inclusive Innovation” lunchtime event will feature key leaders from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Molly Kocialski and Christal Sheppard, discussing navigating diverse and exciting careers, including science, academia, public service and entrepreneurship.

The event is 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Nebraska Union, Regency Room Suite. It is hosted by NUtech Ventures.

This is the first in a series about Inclusive Innovation planned by NUtech for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Conversations will explore navigating careers in intellectual property. Kocialski and Sheppard have had diverse and exciting careers, including science, academia, public service and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, they’ll be sharing resources available for diverse innovators and how the United States Patent and Trademark Office is actively working to broaden participation in inventing and entrepreneurship.

This discussion will be moderated by Cheryl Horst, IP Counsel and associate director of NUtech Ventures, the nonprofit technology commercialization affiliate serving the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Kearney.

This event will be available both in person, and online through Zoom. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person.

This event is open to all faculty, staff, postdocs, students and community partners who are interested in being part of this inclusive innovation series.
