Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students for the Student Luminary Award, one of Nebraska's highest student honors.

Nominations are now open for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Student Luminary Awards, an honor designed to recognize 10 students for their exceptional leadership and commitment, and the James V. Griesen Service to Students Award

Eight undergraduate and two graduate student luminaries will be named at a ceremony March 13, with each recipient awarded $1,000.

Nominees should consistently help every Husker feel valued, create a positive campus environment, advocate for positive change, demonstrate a significant and active commitment to inclusion and model academic excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

During the same ceremony, a faculty or staff member who offers extraordinary and sustained support for students will be recognized with the James V. Griesen Exemplary Service to Students Award. All faculty and staff are eligible for nomination.

Nomination instructions are available online. All nomination packets are due Jan. 24.
