Nominations open for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Impact Awards

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is taking the next step in its long-term journey to strengthen diversity, inclusivity and equity across all areas of the institution.

Nominations of students, faculty and staff for the Nebraska Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Impact Awards are being accepted through March 4.

The Nebraska DEI Impact Awards, presented by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, recognize individuals and groups who actively advance diversity, equity and inclusion in transformative and sustainable ways.

The awards will be presented at the second annual Nebraska DEI Impact Award ceremony on April 13. They are open to a person, group, and/or organization who have demonstrated a commitment to the goals of inclusive excellence on campus. Such actions might include (but are not limited to): Transformative efforts that support and enhance diversity activities and services; working to address issues of inequity through research, activities, and efforts; broadening the scope of inclusiveness on the campus; promoting respect for diverse backgrounds and worldviews; demonstrating advocacy for social justice and intercultural awareness.

The awards are open for nominees in the following categories:

  • Faculty — Diversity Leadership Faculty Award

  • Staff — Diversity Leadership Staff Award

  • Student (Undergraduate and Graduate/Professional) — Promising Leader Award

  • Group — Collective Impact Award

To be considered, nominees must have demonstrated a significant contribution toward creating a diverse and inclusive campus community through the implementation of policies, research, procedures, initiatives and/or programs reflective of the institutions core values and beliefs.
