The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Wellness Initiative is challenging the faculty, staff and students to participate in the Walker Tracker program.

Available through the Walker Tracker app, the program allows individuals and groups to take part in eight-week challenges against other university participants. The challenge is free and the app is available in the iTunes and Google stores.

Progress is tracked through steps. The app converts various physical activities into step data.

The current challenge explores the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, allowing participants to race around the ancient world in real time. The app records steps to correlate to real life distances that can be viewed on a map. The app also provides information about destinations along the way.
