A going-away reception for outgoing NU president James B. Milliken will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. March 31. UNL faculty, students and staff are all welcome.

The event will be at the Van Brunt Visitors Center, 313 N. 13th St. At the reception, Chancellor Harvey Perlman is expected to make a presentation at about 4 p.m.

Milliken, who has led the University of Nebraska system since 2004, announced in January that he was leaving NU to become the chancellor of the City University of New York. On March 21, James Linder was named interim president as the Board of Regents conducts a search for Milliken’s permanent replacement.

No RSVP is required for the reception, which is free and open to the university community.
