VIDEO: Christine Darden, featured speaker, 2019 MLK Week

As our university reflects on the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today and prepares to celebrate his legacy during the week of Jan. 25, Nebraska Today is taking a look back on the 2019 MLK Week celebration, which featured “Hidden Figures” mathematician Christine Darden.

Darden’s presentation, available above or here, explored the film “Hidden Figures,” how Darden knew the women in the movie, and her encounters with the Space Age — from high school to her 40-year career with NASA.

The 2021 MLK Week speaker is Bernice A. King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. Her presentation is Jan. 28. Learn more here.
