Lied Center, Temple Building to stage holiday shows

The Lied Center for Performing Arts’ December lineup features a trio of shows to get people in the holiday spirit.

Tickets are on sale online, by phone at 402-472-4747 or at the Lied Center box office, 301 N. 12th St. University of Nebraska–Lincoln students can purchase tickets at a 50% discount with a valid NCard.

All performances are on the Lied’s main stage unless otherwise noted.

December’s shows:

  • Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. — This holiday extravaganza, featuring the acclaimed trumpeter and special guest vocalists, will include soulful, big band versions of classics such as “Jingle Bells” and “Joy to the World.”

  • “The Holiday Cabaret,” Dec. 12-14, 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 15, 2 p.m.; Dec. 19-20, 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 21, 2 and 7:30 p.m., Temple Building — The Nebraska Repertory Theater’s annual holiday celebration will feature music by Rep performers, emerging artists and surprise guests.

  • “A Very Postmodern Christmas,” Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m. — This holiday tour will showcase Postmodern Jukebox’s rotating collective of vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists mashing up holiday classics and some of today’s pop hits in the styles of 1920s hot jazz, doo wop and Motown.
