Lied Center Piano Academy is July 7-13

The Lied Center Piano Circle, Lied staff and Glenn Korff School of Music will host the second annual Lied Center Piano Academy, July 7-13. The academy will take place at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and Korff School on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus.

The academy is designed for students entering grades 9 through their first year of college in fall 2019. The Academy Artist is rising star Sean Chen, winner of the 2013 American Pianists Awards and third-prize winner at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He, along with Ann Chang, Lied Center artistic director; Donna Gunn, academy manager; Korff School faculty; and guest professionals; will provide talented young pianists intensive training. Participants will raise their level of performance, engage in thought-provoking workshops and develop lifelong relationships.

Academy tuition is $250. Room and board in suite-style dormitories is $317. Every student accepted to the academy will receive a $150 scholarship, provided by the Lied Center Piano Circle. Additional scholarships are available. The application fee is $50.

The application deadline is June 1. Spots are limited.
