Informational scholarship sessions begin Oct. 4

The Office of Fellowships will host several informational sessions on scholarships in the area of service and policy, critical language learning awards, science and technology awards, and international affairs in the month of October. The opportunities are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

The sessions will include:

Service and Policy Awards: Truman/Udall Information Session

  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 4: Nebraska Union, Colonial B

The Truman Scholarship offers $30,000 for graduate school for students who are interested in public service, and the Udall Scholarship offers $7,000 for undergraduate expenses and applies to students who are interested in environmental or tribal policy.

Critical Language Learning Awards: CLS and Boren Information Session

  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 9: Nebraska Union, Regency B

Students can learn about the awards that support overseas study of critical languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Swahili.

Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering Awards and Opportunities

  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11: Nebraska Union, Colonial B

The session will discuss the many opportunities for STEM students to gain research experience both here and abroad, as well as scholarships to help pay for graduate study in the STEM field.

Foreign Service: Scholarships for International Affairs

  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24: Nebraska Union, Colonial B

The session will provide an overview of the scholarships available for students pursuing degrees in international affairs or a career in the Foreign Service.
