Seniors Cooper Grabenstein and Lauren Kubat were crowned homecoming royalty during halftime of the Nebraska-Penn State football game Nov. 14.

Seniors Cooper Grabenstein of Smithfield and Lauren Kubat of Omaha have been crowned homecoming royalty at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Grabenstein and Kubat, elected in an online vote of the student body Oct. 27 and 28, were crowned outside the Wick Alumni Center during halftime of the Nov. 14 Nebraska-Penn State football game.

Grabenstein is an agribusiness major on the banking/finance track. He is a member of FarmHouse fraternity, the Black Masque Chapter of Mortar Board, the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council, NHRI Leadership Mentoring and Navigators Bible Study. He is the son of Todd and Tricia Grabenstein.

Kubat is an accounting major and Clifton Builders management minor. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity, the Clifton Builders program, Wall Street Scholars of Nebraska and UPC Nebraska, as well as a Nelnet intern. She is the daughter of Barry and Michelle Kubat.
