Carole Goebes, associate professor and catalog librarian, is retiring from University Libraries after 34 years of service.

Goebes came to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in October 1986. She began her 34-year career as a music and German cataloger, eventually becoming the principal music cataloger.

During her career, Goebes gave presentations on early books and manuscripts for history and art courses. Goebes also taught training sessions in the cataloging department and for the Nebraska Library Commission.

Within the last 10 years, Goebes also began cataloging special collections in collaboration with Peg Brown. While working at Nebraska, she received a graduate degree in medieval history.

University Libraries has created an online message board for friends, faculty, staff and students to leave messages for Goebes.
