Connie Collingsworth, chief business operations officer of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will share insights into how board members are chosen and how individuals can best position themselves to serve on a corporate board during a presentation at 3 p.m. April 18 at the College of Law.
The presentation is part of a women’s initiative organized by Nebraska Law. The event is free for students and faculty, and $50 for professionals and guests.
Following the “Breaking into the Boardroom: The Process and the Path” keynote, a panel discussion will include Mike Dunlap, former chief executive officer and board chairman, Nelnet; Kathleen Farrell, member of the board of directors, Nelnet and dean of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business; Thames Fulton, senior member of the RSR Partners’ Board Recruiting Practice; and Heidi Hornung-Scherr, chief administrative principal, Scudder Law Firm.
