Campus Recreation and the National Fitness Campaign partnered to install a state-of-the-art, outdoor Fitness Court at the corner of 17th and R streets (north of the Delta Gamma house and west of Knoll Residence Complex).

A launch party is 5 p.m. Aug. 27. Students are invited to stop by for a workout and a chance for giveaways. Campus Rec staff will be on-hand to demonstrate the circuit-training system and how users can achieve a full-body workout in as little as seven minutes.

The National Fitness Campaign’s “7 Movements in 7 Minutes” is a simple, yet powerful, workout created for a range of athletic abilities. It is optimally performed on the new Fitness Court. Developed by experts in the field, each exercise takes 45 seconds, with a 15-second interlude between sets. The workout is shown to burn more calories per minute than most other forms of exercise.

The Fitness Court area is open for campus use. The National Fitness Campaign’s Fitness Court app is also available for download.

The campaign’s goal is to bring enhanced fitness to 1,000 cities by 2021.
