First-Gen Nebraska accepting applications for advisory board

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Students

First Generation Nebraska is accepting applications for new faculty and staff advisory board members for terms beginning in spring 2020. Applicants do not need to be first-generation to serve in this role.

The advisory board — comprised of faculty, staff and students — develops, implements and assesses programs and events. It meets three times a semester during the academic year and during the summer as needed to address:

  • First-gen student belonging, networking and engagement

  • Faculty and staff development on supporting first-gen scholars

  • First-gen alumni and community engagement

  • Organizational capacity and infrastructure

Submit an application describing your interest and relevant experience by Dec. 20.

For more information, contact Ashlee Young, First Generation Nebraska coordinator, or Amy Goodburn, senior associate vice chancellor and dean of undergraduate education.

Faculty, staff and students interested in First Generation Nebraska events and programs can join the first-gen list to receive email notifications throughout the academic year.
