First Friday event to honor firefighters

University of Nebraska-Lincoln galleries will offer free admission and special programming on Nov. 6, as part of Lincoln’s First Friday Artwalk.

Campus galleries and programming for First Friday include:

Love Library, 5 to 7 p.m. — The 9th Annual UNL Staff Art Show is on the second floor of Love Library and features art pieces created by university employees. A reception will be held as part of First Friday. The exhibition will be on display through Dec. 19. For additional information, click here.

International Quilt Study Center and Museum, 4 to 7 p.m. — Lincoln Fire and Rescue will unveil a newly commissioned quilt made to honor local fire houses and shops during a special ceremony at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum. Light refreshments will be served during the celebration, which will honor the quilts makers and Lincoln’s firefighters. The quilt will be on display at the museum throughout November.
