Faculty volunteers sought for Fulbright fellow mixer

Nebraska Union
The mixer will take place in the Nebraska Union on July 27.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s program in English as a Second Language is hosting the Fulbright English for Graduate Studies program.

The program features 25 students from 17 countries. It is designed to help the students develop language, academic and cultural skills before starting degree programs at institutions across the United States this fall.

Faculty can participate in a mixer to meet the students from 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 27 in the Nebraska Union (room posted). For more information or to participate, contact Juliee Crocker at jcrocker@unl.edu.

The mixer is intended to help the students develop networking skills within the academic world — a component of the Fulbright program. Fields of study being pursued by the students include architectural engineering, education, international relations, neuroscience and public health.

This opportunity will help the English for Graduate Studies Program participants develop networking skills as well as gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively using English in professional settings.
