The university will again hold a Juneteenth celebration on June 19. The event is amongst the events featured currently in the Cultural Heritage and Identity Celebrations Calendar.

A new online resource has launched to help inform the University of Nebraska–Lincoln community about cultural heritage celebrations and related campus events.

Offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Cultural Heritage and Identity Celebrations Calendar, is available online and will be regularly updated. For June, the calendar is featuring information on LGBTQA+ Pride Month and Juneteenth.

“The goal of this calendar is to better communicate with the entire campus community about the many wonderful cultural identity opportunities they have an opportunity to participate in,” said Charlie Foster, special assistant to the vice chancellor of diversity and inclusion. “It is also a resource to help students, faculty and staff better understand the history behind these celebrations.”

Information on the site is curated by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Leaders in the university’s recognized student organizations have also received invitations to help populate the site with event information.

The Cultural Heritage and Identity Celebrations Calendar is available here.
