The musical “Hamilton” — a retelling of the triumphant, turbulent and tragic life of one of the United States’ founding fathers — has ensconced itself in the cultural zeitgeist, and Lincoln theatergoers now have a chance to see it live.

The Lied Center for Performing Arts will host the blockbuster show for a two-week run of performances Aug. 2-13. Tickets to nearly all shows are available at the Lied Center’s website.

Nebraska Today took a peek behind the scenes and into the juggernaut numbers, which illustrate the show’s popularity and ingenuity:

16 – the number of “Hamilton” shows at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

818 – The number of pages in Ron Chernow’s biography, “Alexander Hamilton,” which served as the basis and inspiration for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip hop musical. Miranda said he picked up the biography in an airport bookstore, and began reading it while on vacation in Mexico.

7 – The number of years Miranda spent writing and composing “Hamilton.”

8,000-plus – The man hours needed to engineer, build, paint and automate the touring “Hamilton” set, which includes its famous turn table stage.

9 inches – The height of the show’s deck, which houses all the motors, encoders, drivers and other mechanisms needed to make the turn table stage work.

50-plus – The number of paper props in the show.

25 – The number of crew members backstage that run “Hamilton.” With the additional managers and crew that help make the show happen, the crew totals more than 100.
