Applications are being accepted for the Big Ten Academic Alliance Student Design Challenge, through which students can rethink a campus space and win a cash prize. The submission deadline is Nov. 26.

Teams of three to four students will compete by submitting new designs for an informal space chosen at each of the competing Big Ten schools. One team will be selected to move forward to the national round of the competition.

The top three teams will advance to the Herman Miller headquarters in Holland, Michigan, to refine and pitch ideas to a panel of design experts. The winning team will receive a $2,000 cash prize and their proposal will be funded and built. 

Last year, a campus team, made up of students from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Architecture, made it to the final round of the competition. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal.
