Afghan professor, economist featured in public Q&A

Craig Chandler | University Communication

Students enrolled in Refugees, (Im)migrants and Displaced Persons in a Globalized World (GLST/HRHA 350), offered through the School of Global Integrative Studies, are hosting a question and answer forum with Nasir Farahmand.

Farahmand is from Herat, Afghanistan, where he worked as a professor of economics and a college administrator. He left Afghanistan more than a decade ago because his work as an educator, among other things, made it unsafe for him to remain. He currently works for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, where he uses some of his economics expertise.

The talk will is 11 a.m to 12:15 p.m. Dec. 8 in Oldfather Hall, Room 204.

The event is open to the public and will include an opportunity to ask questions. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
