3 Husker journalists selected for Carnegie-Knight News21 program

Three Husker journalists — Shelby Rickert (left), Samantha Grove (center) and Jordan Moore — have been selected to participate in the 2024 Carnegie-Knight News21 program.

Three students from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications have been selected to participate in the 2024 Carnegie-Knight News21 program.

The prestigious national reporting initiative is headquartered at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The program brings together top journalism students from across the United States to collaborate on in-depth multimedia projects for prominent media outlets such as The Washington Post, NBC News and USA Today.

The following Huskers, listed alphabetically by hometown, were selected for the News21 program. The information includes their year in school and major(s).

Nebraska

Beaver City:

  • Shelby Rickert, sophomore, journalism

Lincoln:

  • Samantha Grove, senior, journalism, broadcasting and anthropology
  • Jordan Moore, senior, journalism
