The University Libraries 2018 Visiting Scholar, Kristi Jensen will deliver a series of presentations and conversations about affordable content initiatives, including open educational resources, on April 5.
Jensen is program development lead for the e-learning support initiative at the University of Minnesota libraries.
The first event will take place in Love Library 218 and is free and open to the public. The presentation will explore affordable content including partnerships, incentives and impacts.
Doors open at 9 a.m. for coffee and refreshments with the presentation from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
The second presentation will focus on setting people up for success by using open educational resources. The session will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center’s Room B.
Registration is required for lunch to be provided.
A free webcast of the presentation will be availble at noon in Love Library’s Peterson Room.
In this session participants can learn more about open educational resources — what it is and why you might want to consider using it, how to find one that meets your teaching and learning needs, how you can create and share them, and what other faculty are doing with them in their classrooms today.
Following will be a panel discussion regarding faculty experiences at 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the same room. It will feature an open panel with faculty that features their progress of applying affordable and open-source educational resources in classrooms at Nebraska.
