The third concert of the Flyover New Music Series will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in Westbrook Music Building, 11th and R streets, room 119.
The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will also be webcast.
The Flyover New Music Series is presented by composition students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students, including Greg Simon, assistant professor of composition.
The third concert of the 2021-2022 season, “As Time Goes By,” features seven new works, all written by members of the composition studio.
The works explore the concept of time in a variety of ways — looking at the past through mythic stories and historical events, the present through the beauty of our natural world, or looking to future hopes, dreams and possibilities.
“Please join us for an unforgettable night and a musical journey through time,” said John Cope, a graduate teaching assistant in the music composition area.
