Panel conversation featuring local leaders is Feb. 20

Voices of Impact: Leaders Shaping Modern Nebraska will feature multiple panelists Feb. 20.

A Voices of Impact: Leaders Shaping Modern Nebraska event will be held 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Ubuntu Room, Room 202. The conversation will include local leaders in art, academia, social entrepreneurship, political activism and well-being.

The event is an interview-style panel spotlighting local leaders whose work is transforming communities through creativity, scholarship, advocacy and care. Topics covered will include leadership journeys, responsibility and the legacy being shaped today.

Panelists are:

  • Preston Love Jr.: Veteran community activist, educator and civic leader advancing economic inclusion, political engagement and voter empowerment.
  • Albert Maxey: Nebraska trailblazer whose life spans athletics, law enforcement, education and visual art, telling powerful stories through lived experience and portraiture.
  • Letura Idigima: Youth engagement leader and creative force expanding access to art, culture and opportunity through community-centered spaces.
  • Jeannette Eileen Jones: Historian and scholar illuminating African American history, race and global connections through teaching, research and mentorship.
  • John Goldrich: Mental health practitioner and campus leader supporting student well-being, identity and resilience in complex social climates.

No RSVP is required. Light refreshments and soft drinks will be served.
