The Office of Research and Economic Development is seeking faculty volunteers to serve as reviewers of Grand Challenges planning grant proposals. Reviewers are needed from every discipline on campus.
The perspectives of scholars who belong to historically underrepresented groups, including gender and racial/ethnic minorities and individuals having other minoritized identities, are highly valued and sought as part of the proposal review process. Faculty from all academic ranks — including those earlier in their career — are encouraged to volunteer.
Reviewers will be needed for nine to 12 hours during May and June. Faculty may complete this form to register their interest in volunteering by April 15. Those who would like to nominate a faculty colleague to serve as a reviewer should send the proposed reviewer’s name, departmental affiliation and email address to grandchallenges@unl.edu.
Upcoming deadlines for the Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition are:
Feb. 28, 5 p.m. for notices of intent to submit a proposal. Late notices of intent to submit will not be accepted.
April 29, 5 p.m. to submit a proposal. Late proposals will not be reviewed.
During two upcoming virtual Grand Challenge Town Halls, the Office of Research and Economic Development will answer questions about the proposal review process and proposal preparation requirements:
