The university’s First Generation Nebraska program is seeking first-generation faculty and staff to participate in Share a Meal, a lunch event meant to forge connections between those on campus with similar academic backgrounds. Lunch is free for participants.
Those interested in participating will provide advice and support to students who are the first in their families to attend college. Doing so can help aid in students’ success, helping them easily identify those who can relate to particular challenges they might be facing.
Dates for Share a Meal include:
Oct. 23, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Selleck Dining Hall
Nov. 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., East Campus Café, Nebraska East Union
Faculty and staff who register for First Generation Nebraska can pick up buttons, office placards, and stickers from Danielle McRell in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor, Room 208, in the Canfield Administration Building between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
