Nebraska’s chief academic officer is stepping out to meet directly with faculty.
Through the new “Let’s Talk: Coffee and Conversations” series, Donde Plowman, executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer, will host a series of morning discussions with University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty. The series kicks off Jan. 30 with an 8 to 9 a.m. interaction with faculty in the College of Engineering.
“I’m launching this series to engage with faculty in campus in an informal way,” Plowman said. “There is no agenda, just an opportunity for conversation and getting to know one another.”
Each stop in the series will include coffee and other breakfast options. The college-specific talks are 8 to 9 a.m., except a 10 to 11 a.m. April 20 talk at the Walter Scott Engineering Campus at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The talks are open to all interested faculty.
“It would be easy for me to stay in the office in scheduled meetings all day long,” Plowman said. “But, I want to get out to the colleges and around campus to listen and learn what faculty are thinking about.”
