The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Classics and Religious Studies will hold a live battle reenactment pitting Greeks and Trojans.

The Battle of Troy reenactment is at 4 p.m. Oct. 31 in the green space north of the Nebraska Union. This event is free and open to the public.

The transition from lectures in the classrooms to reenactments outdoors is an interactive way to teach students. This teaching method was led by Sarah Murray, assistant professor of classical and religious studies, when she came to Nebraska in 2012.

The full-scale reenactments are open to participation by the campus community and public. Faculty from the department will lead the event and guide the movements through narrative to simulate what happened during the ancient battle.
